Cycle Air Filters are "earth's most sustainable HVAC Air Filter". We proudly make a laundry-washable, dryer safe, 100% recycled filter that offers an eco-friendly choice for homeowners who want a cleaner home environment while minimizing waste. Unlike disposable filters, our 100% recycled polyester filter can be washed and reused, reducing landfill waste and saving you money.
Traditional disposable filters contribute significantly to environmental waste. They are made of synthetic poly (a.k.a. plastic) despite having a cardboard frame. Disposable filters can't be recycled and it results in more than 250 million residential single-use filters thrown away to landfills every year in North America alone. Cycle Air provides an eco-conscious solution without compromising on performance or quality. Permanently reuse your filter while maintaining your home’s air quality, ensuring your HVAC/Furnace is running smoothly, and saving you money!
Our patented "change indicator" takes the guesswork out of washes. 3 dots appear on the indicator strip to show when it's dirty! Usually, we recommend a wash every 60 days or when the dots show up, whichever is sooner. That depends on a lot of factors like your home environment (and the amount of dust in the air), if you have pets, your climate, and how often your furnace or AC is running.
Our Cycle Air HVAC air filters are universally compatible with furnace slots, wall return vents, and ceiling returns. Order your 16 x 24 x 1-inch filter here. Don't have a 16x24x1" size? Browse our 25+ available in-stock sizes here: shop 1" wide filters, shop 4" wide filters, shop 5" wide filters.
Our 16x20x1" furnace filters are made in Ontario, where quality recycled materials are transformed into our premium filters. Sustainability is at our core; we ship our filters in compact boxes that are 80% more efficient to ship than standard, disposable filters. Keeping production in North America, while cutting the box size by 80% reflects our commitment to sustainability. #WashAndReuse @CycleAir.ca
Cycle Air Filters have a proprietary 3D mesh technology that traps and holds dust. Below are images photographed by the Surface Science Western at the prestigious University of Western Ontario showing the Cycle Air Filter's dust capture in action.
The electrostatically charged filter allows dust and allergens to stick to the filter, thereby keeping your HVAC blower components operating smoothly and free of dust, and cleaning your household air!
Traditional single-use "paper" filters cannot be recycled. That means more than 250,000,000 single-use residential HVAC air filters are thrown away to landfill each and every year, in North America alone. Despite disposable filters having a paper frame, the filter itself is plastic (a synthetic polymer) and can't be recycled - making it one of the biggest contributors to single-use plastic waste in the home!
Cycle Air Filters can be recycled. First off; Cycle Air Filters are made from 100% recycled materials. The filter itself is recycled PP (polypropylene) which is made of water bottles diverted from oceans and landfills. The frame is also recycled; made of recycled HDPE (high density polyethylene) one of the most widely accepted and recyclable plastics. At the end of life of your Cycle Air Filter, the filter can be brought to any textile recycler. The filter is wash-tested for 50 washes (more than 8 years when washed once every 60 days). The frame can be used forever, but if you change your mind decades down the road it can be easily recycled in curbside blue-bin programs.
