About Us

Cycle Air is small startup, family-owned and operated manufacturer of sustainable products. We are based in London Ontario and manufacture in London Ontario Canada.

Our flagship Cycle Air Filter is an innovation that aims to reduce waste from disposable furnace filters. 55% of Canadian households and 48% of US households rely on a forced-air HVAC system (like a furnace, heat pump, or ducted AC). These require air filters that act to prevent dust and debris buildup on HVAC blower fans, and clean microparticulates (like dust and allergens, pet dander, etc) from the air. The issue is that single-use filters are expensive and wasteful. Most are unaware, but those "paper" looking pleated filters are actually made of plastic. The frames are cardboard, but the filter media is a synethic polymer that can't be recycled. The result? More than 250,000,000 single-use furnace filters go to landfill each and every year in North America from households (and even more for businesses and office buildings).

The idea for Cycle Air Filters started when founder Scott wanted to impact the way filters were made with a goal of reducing plastic waste and environmental impact. After years of R&D, testing, development, and filing the patent; Cycle Air Filters was launched with the first filter shipping October 1, 2023. Now, more than 5000 water bottles worth of plastic has been diverted from landfills and oceans from the impact of Cycle Air's washable filters.

Cycle Air Filters are made of a proprietary filtration fabric that is engineered from recycled water bottles. The fabric slides over a permanent frame. There is a patented "change indicator" that shows the user when it's time for a wash.

Washing is simple and easy; simply slide the filter off the frame and toss it in your washing machine. It's laundry-safe! Cycle Air Filters are also dryer-safe which allows for a quick dry (usually about 10-15 minutes), and recharges the electrostatic charge. The charge captures and holds more dust and allergens.

Off-cuts of the filter manufacturing were used to develop the Soap Envelope. Danika, Scott's wife and co-founder, developed the Soap Envelope is a "happy accident" that evolved from the goal of being a zero waste manufacturer. The off-cuts of the recycled filter fabric were developed into a soap-saver bag for bar soap, offering a great lather with a gentle exfoliation. Not only are Soap Envelope's "double recycled", they encourage the use of bar soap over body wash (in single-use plastic bottles).

Cycle Air Filters and Soap Envelopes are manufactured in London Ontario Canada.
The frames for Cycle Air laundry-washable furnace filters are manufactured in Melancthon Ontario from recycled HDPE that is extruded in Steinbach Manitoba.
